We’ve launched Wigs of Love, a heartfelt initiative to gift premium-quality wigs to brave women facing the emotional and physical toll of hair loss.
Whether due to chemotherapy or a lifelong condition like alopecia, these women deserve to see themselves shine again.

Monica dos Santos, a 30-year-old mother of three from Johannesburg, is bravely battling cancer for the second time. First diagnosed in 2017 shortly after a premature childbirth, she underwent surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation—losing all her hair at just 24. In 2023, Monica faced a relapse with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, enduring six months of intense chemo and now undergoing a stem cell transplant. The repeated loss of her long, cherished hair—once the inspiration for her haircare business, Bóm Beauty—has been one of the most emotionally painful parts of her journey.
A sponsored wig helped her regain a sense of beauty and confidence as she continues to fight and inspire others.

Bianca Tolken, a vibrant 22-year-old, was diagnosed with stage 3 skin cancer in November 2024. After two unsuccessful immunotherapy treatments, she began chemotherapy in February 2025, which led to severe hair loss—something especially difficult as her hair meant everything to her. Despite the emotional toll, Bianca remains hopeful and generous. She cut 30cm off her own hair to donate, along with hair donated by friends. In a powerful show of support, her friends also gathered at The Goat & Co to shave their heads and raise awareness for cancer. Longing to feel beautiful and confident again a sponsored wig helped her regain a sense of beauty and confidence as she continues to fight and inspire others.

Cenetta Lake was diagnosed with alopecia five years ago. Within a year, most of her long blonde curls had fallen out, leaving only thin patches—prompting her to shave it all off. Although loved ones tried to comfort her, she knew this wasn’t "just hair"—it was her crown. A single mom, Cenetta struggled to find an affordable, good-quality wig, falling victim to scams and poor experiences. After losing her mother to cancer and struggling with her weight due to stress, she’s ready to reclaim her health, her joy, and her confidence. A proper wig, in her style and shade, would mean finally feeling like herself again—ready to step out, show up, and shine.

Ashley Gouws is the devoted mother of a 15-year-old daughter living with a form of alopecia. Over the years, her daughter’s self-confidence has been broken down by relentless bullying—both from classmates and, heartbreakingly, even some teachers. As the sole breadwinner, also caring for a disabled mother and a husband facing major surgeries, Ashley is emotionally and financially exhausted. Her daughter, now in Grade 10, depends on this topper to face the world. A proper hair piece meant everything: a chance to feel normal, beautiful, and brave in a world that hasn’t always been kind.
Ashley's daughter received a beautiful custom designed hair piece proudly sponsored by Strands of Love to hide her alopecia and give her the confidence every teenage girl deserves. Due to Ashley's daughters age and the bullying she went through, we will not be showing her after photo.

Please submit your story & photos. We review each submission with care and love. If selected, we will reach out and walk this journey with you, offering a custom wig that helps you reclaim your crown.
